Seasons Change and Time Slows

I love when the season changes.  Those brief weeks of transition where time seems to slow down just enough you can almost see its fluid movement.  Time seems to move so quickly the rest of the year, with school and work and activities, but somehow when mother nature changes her wardrobe time slows just a bit so that we can admire and reflect.

The first pure white blanket of snow in winter, the first pinpoints of color on a stark background in spring, a gold toned fall, they are each wonderful in their own right.

Right now the leaves are bursting in color and slowly carpeting the ground which is greener than it has been all hot summer.  Mums in various jewel tones and pumpkins and gourds decorate the yards and somehow the sky looks a bit bluer in the crisp air.

I'm not sure what it is about the change of seasons that slows time so we mere mortals can appreciate what we have, but I'm so glad it happens.  We're healthy, happy and loved and our future is bright.  It's such a wonderful mix of reminiscing and reflecting on how much we have grown and changed balanced with excitement for what comes next.

Happy Fall!
